After consulting youth inthe preliminary NYCC in Dec 07, we finally came out with a Youth Agenda for Change which encompasses the youth concerned issues. Hooray! You can find attached for the agenda.
So, in preparation for the <NYCC 2009> scheduled to be held in July 2009, a two days training workshop with the theme of “Youth Participation: Know Your Rights” will be held. The details of the training workshop are as follows:

VENUE: Perangsang Templer Gold Club, Selayang
Fees: RM10/= per person.

Youth wants more democratic space
In conjunction with International Youth Day, Malaysian youth came together in a youth walk with the theme “Youth, it’s time to take action now”.
Despite of freedom of assembly is very lacking in Malaysia, a group of 35 youth decided to celebrate the International Youth Day in Bukit Bintang by organizing a youth walk.
This youth walk was organized by National Youth Consultation Conference (NYCC), a coalition that advocates for youth issues. It is made up of Youth for Change (Y4C), Persatuan Kesedaran Komuniti Selangor (Empower), Solidariti Mahasiswa Malaysia (SMM), National Young Lawyers Committee (NYLC) and the Kuala Lumpur Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall Youth Section (KLSCAH Youth).

青年学生要求更多民主空间
配合8月12日世界青年日， 全国青年谘询会议，一个联合5机构组成的联盟， 成员有动力青年，吉隆坡及雪兰莪中华大会堂青年组，雪兰莪社区自强协会，全国青年律师的委员会和全国大专生团结阵线于8月9日下午4时在武吉免登举办青年之行，主题为”青年，是时候行动了”。
人 们常说青年人是国家未来栋梁，但是由于缺乏相关平台的种种不利因素，青年们的看法和意见未能对社会带来直接的影响。青年之行作为一个让年轻人把他们的问题 和建议抒发出来的平台。参与的35 位青年与学生运用创意如：画板、衬衫、监狱的框架来提出诉求如：废除内安法令、两性平等。 他们在街上行走同时在短短一小时内共获得400 位公众热烈响应。
此青年之行本预计在5时30分结束，但是在吉隆坡市政局官员要求解散下活动提早15分钟结束。

Exposure Trip To Tmn Melawati, Batu Caves & Rawang + Ceramah Politk Umum
Who are we?
A group of young, energetic and idealistic youth wants to break the public’s perception that young people are apolitical. They care about the General Election and the voice of the people in Taman Melawati, Batu Caves and Rawang. The trip members are composed of young organizer, professionals, students etc.
What are the programs?
“Good Morning, Pasar!”, “Batu Caves Community Explore”, “Door2Door visit and do survey” “Leafletting” , “Election workshop” etc.
Why we organize youth exposure trip during General Election?
• NYCC believes that young people are energetic and lively. Their power should not be ignored or marginalized.
• We need to promote and encourage more young people to care about politic. They have their own views, creative ideas and idealism.
• Youth are capable of analyzing the current state of affairs and put forward their opinion and stand. By going through this exposure trip, young people will form their own opinions and hopefully have greater interests in politics.
• These synergies will eventually become a formidable force to make Malaysia a more democratic country
“Ceramah Politik Pilihanraya Umum”
Ceramah Politik is an occasion that political parties will speak out their point of views to the voters.It is an important campaign for the candidates in order to promote themselves. Different issues will be raised up in order to raise the supports. Sometime, in order to get the attention of the voters, multimedia presentation and songs will be presented. Listen to their talk and think critically about their views. What do you think about their promises or commitments? W

Rational:
Pilihanraya Umum Ke-12 akan berlangsung pada 8 Mac. NYCC, satu badan gabungan yang memperjuangkan isu-isu generasi muda Malaysia yang terdiri daripada lima organisasi belia utama akan membawa orang muda ke sekitar Lembah Kelang untuk meninjau kawasan yang menghadapi isu-isu penting. Dengan keadaan media massa dan masyarakat civil yang dikongkong, Pilihanraya Umum merupakan satu platform yang penting bagi orang muda untuk membicarakan soal-soal penting negara. Orang muda bukan lesu, tetapi kurang pendedahan terhadap politik. Orang muda adalah masa depan negara, tetapi adakah kita menyediakan ruang yang mencukupi untuk orang muda bersedia untuk melibatkan diri dalam politik?
Inilah peluang emas bagi orang muda untuk mengenali masyarakat majmuk di negara kita dengan cara turun ke padang. Kali ini… ayuh kita pergi Lembah Kelang!
Objektif:
Memberi peluang kepada orang-orang muda and pelajar menyaksikan kempen Pilihanraya Umum secara keseluruhannya dan non-partisan. Serta menjalankan kaji selidik di kawasan yang dikenalpasti.
Siapa boleh menyertai?
Orang-orang muda yang berminat! Pelajar, professionals yang berbilang bangsa dialu-alukan.
